If dental appointments trigger tension, fear, or avoidance, you are not alone.
For many people, past experiences can create a lasting stress response. Even routine procedures can cause a racing heart, tight jaw, shallow breathing, or the urge to cancel appointments altogether.
This is not weakness.
It is a learned nervous system response.
And it can be changed.

4. Strengthen confidence and internal control before your procedure
5. Personalised recorded exercises to use between sessions
Most clients report feeling noticeably calmer before their very next dental appointment
I've always had a maybe-slightly-greater-than-normal wariness of the dentist, but it was manageable until this last year, when I needed to have a number of treatments (still ongoing), that caused my fear to develop into a full blown phobia. It gradually infected my whole life - I spent my time between dental visits obsessing about the next appointment...it would cross my mind many, many times every day, even when the pain had been dealt with, and my next appointment was weeks away. It was exhausting and it was really affecting how I saw myself. Finally, Elaine's services were recommended to me. I had one session, which turned out to not only be transformational, but enjoyable - Elaine really took the time to explain the (very interesting) process, and her lovely, empathetic manner created a feeling of security right from the beginning. If I'm honest, I wasn't expecting the results to be immediate - but they were. I felt lighter after the initial treatment, and I listened to the personal guided meditation Elaine provided over the next few weeks. I didn't spend the fortnight until my next dental appointment stressing and worrying - the once or twice that it did cross my mind, it was as a neutral thought. On the day I was scheduled to go into the surgery, I felt calm and in control. When I think about the two further dental treatments I need, I feel the same way - positive and relaxed. My one session with Elaine has genuinely been life-changing, and I cannot recommend her highly enough.

I had a fear of needles - I would try to think about something else, anything else other than the needle - but it was a boundary I couldn't overcome all on my own.
Elaine helped me with this and I really enjoyed my time with her, she was understanding and caring which made the process very easy.
Now I am more confident around needles. The calm state of mind exercises that were recorded for me really helped, and now I'm able to get into a calm state much easier.
As a result of working with Elaine, I got over my fear of needles.
